Blessed Maria Troncatti, a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), will be canonized a saint on 19 October 2025 in Rome, marking a joyful moment for the Salesian Family and the universal Church. Born on 16 February 1883 in Corteno Golgi, Italy, she devoted her life to God through service, especially among the poor and indigenous people of Ecuador. A nurse, catechist, and missionary, she dedicated over four decades to the Shuar people in the Amazon, bringing healing, education, and the Gospel with deep compassion and humility. After her death in a plane crash on 25 August 1969, her holiness continued to inspire countless faithful. Beatified in 2012, her canonization was approved by Pope Francis following the recognition of a second miracle attributed to her intercession. Saint Maria Troncatti’s life shines as a testimony of missionary zeal, faith in God’s providence, and love for humanity—an enduring example for all who seek to live the Gospel through service and charity.
