Thanksgiving for the Canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti – INK

Posted on Tue December 2, 2025 by adminssdfma

The whole Province joined in the joy of the Canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti by celebrating a Mass of Thanksgiving in each community

Karnataka, India — The Sacred Heart Province (INK) joined the global family of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the wider Salesian Family in a heartfelt outpouring of joy and gratitude as they celebrated the canonization of Saint Maria Troncatti. Across the Province, every community marked the occasion with a reverent Mass of Thanksgiving, uniting hearts and voices in praise for the gift of this remarkable missionary saint.

The Eucharistic celebrations were made even more meaningful by the presence of bishops from various regions, together with numerous priests, Salesians of Don Bosco, and diocesan clergy. Their participation added spiritual depth to the festivities and stood as a beautiful reminder of the Church’s unity as it welcomed a new model of holiness.

The celebrations drew a vibrant and diverse gathering—FMA Sisters, members of the Salesian Family, including Salesian Cooperators, ADMA members, past pupils, students, teachers, parishioners, and well-wishers. Their lively involvement echoed a shared admiration for St. Maria Troncatti and filled the Province with a spirit of communion and gratitude.

In a touching tribute to her life, communities across the Province prepared videos and musical pieces in multiple languages—Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and English—showcasing the cultural richness of the region. Through expressive dance, drama, music, and song, the faithful revisited the story of a woman whose courage, tenderness, and unwavering commitment to the poor continue to inspire generations.

To mark the occasion, souvenirs were distributed to all participants, adding a joyful sense of celebration. Meanwhile, the story of Saint Maria Troncatti extended far beyond the walls of the communities, as several TV channels, magazines, and newspapers featured articles about her heroic life and mission, helping her legacy reach countless others.

Throughout the province, the celebration unfolded as a meaningful tapestry of faith, culture, and gratitude—an unforgettable celebration of a saint whose light continues to guide the Salesian Family in India and beyond.
