Final commitment of Srs. Dhanya Mary, Frinsha Francis & Jacintha Kopuri, with the theme
“ANCHORED IN CHRIST, JOURNEY WITH HOPE”
The Bangalore Province of the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco (FMA) witnessed a deeply grace-filled and joyous occasion on 24 May 2025, as three of our sisters made their Perpetual Profession of religious vows, dedicating their lives entirely to God in the spirit of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello.
The solemn Eucharistic Celebration commenced at 11:30 a.m. in the presence of religious, family members, friends, and members of the Salesian Family. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Bosco Ponthokan SDB, who presided over the liturgy with deep devotion and fatherly affection. He was joined by a large number of concelebrating priests, signifying the unity and fraternity of the Salesian mission.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Bosco Ponthokan reflected on the theme of total surrender to God’s will, the significance of perpetual commitment in religious life, and the witness of joy that consecrated persons are called to be in today’s world. He reminded the professed sisters of their identity as signs and bearers of God’s love for the young, especially the poor and marginalized, in fidelity to the charism of Don Bosco.
Following the homily, the rite of Perpetual Profession was conducted in a prayerful and moving atmosphere. The sisters publicly professed the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, and obedience for life, received the signs of their consecration, and were officially incorporated as full members of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
The presence of Sr. Provincial Rev. Sr. Lucy Rose Ozhukayil, along with other sisters from various communities, added to the spiritual solemnity and familial warmth of the event. In her message, the Provincial expressed her joy and gratitude to God for the gift of the vocations and encouraged the newly perpetually professed to live their commitment with fidelity, zeal, and joy in the service of the young and the Church.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, followed by a festive fellowship meal, where all gathered to rejoice and celebrate God’s faithfulness.
This memorable event on the feast of Mary Help of Christians was a true testament to the vibrant life and mission of the Salesian Sisters in the Bangalore Province. We continue to pray for the newly perpetually professed sisters that they may grow in holiness and courageously live out their vocation in the Salesian spirit.
