An array of sights and sounds filled the air as ten of our sisters Srs. Anna Karuvelil, Bridget Thonippara, Catherine Aayila, Crescentia D’ Almeida, Fatima Anthony, Marietta Kaidathara, Maria Kandankaryil, Mary Aayila, Sicily Paul and Susie Paul celebrated their Golden Jubilee and Sr. Helen Thonippara Diamond Jubilee at Sacred Heart Covent, Bangalore on August 04, 2022.
The celebration began with a Solemn Holy Eucharist at 10.00 a.m. presided by Rev. Fr. Moncy Nellikunnel SDB, along with 17 concelebrants. The young girls of Nirmal Jyothi Institute ushered the celebrants, and the jubilarians to the altar with their rhythmic steps. Chapel was packed with sisters, relatives of our Jubilarians, well-wishers, Salesian Family members, sisters from other Congregations which made the event a grace filled and joyful one for our jubilarians. The celebrant Rev. Fr. Moncy in his homily highlighted the predominant virtues lived by our Jubilarians and congratulated them for their joyful committed ‘Yes’ to the Lord and wished them that as they walk in the footsteps of Jesus with Mary as their guide and the zealous example of our saints lead them all. On this great occasion our Jubilarians renewed their religious vows.
Following the Eucharistic celebration, the festive atmosphere continued with felicitation function for the Jubilarians. Which began with the cutting of the cake while the Sisters sang congratulations. Sr. Annie John the Vice Provincial welcomed the gathering. Sr. Lucy Rose in felicitating brought in an analogy of the merchant searching for pearls. Jesus the merchant found these priceless pearls 50 years ago and continuing to keep them under His care. The Jubilarians were then honored by the Provincial, Sr. Lucy Rose Ozhukayil, Vice Provincial, Sr. Annie John, Sisters from Mother Province, Chennai and well-wishers.
The celebration was grand indeed with the colourful dances and songs from the communities of Nirmal Jyothi, Guduvanahalli, Chamrajpet, AWC and even the newly started Auxilium P.U College.
Finally, Jubilarians thanked God for his undivided love, Congregation, Parents, Friends and all who shared their life to reach this 60th and 50th Jubilee milestone year. The celebration came to end with fraternal sumptuous meal for all.
