Vision and Mission

Inspired by the foreseeing love of Jesus the Good Shepherd our model and guided by Mary our Mother and Teacher and sensitive to the challenges of the times and to the needs of the Church, we the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (F.M.A), commonly known as the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, of the Province of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Bangalore, envisage ourselves as dynamic, Christ - centred communities of consecrated women totally committed to the holistic, growth of children, youth and women especially, the poor the abandoned and the marginalized according to the spirit and charism of our Founder St. John Bosco and of our Co-Foundress St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello in collaboration with the educating community and all those who strive for the realization of a just and humane society. We make our own Don Bosco`s motto:" Da mihi animas, cetera tolle" and his spirituality and method of education: the Preventive System.

Our mission is education and evangelization for the holistic development of the human person. Our target groups are children, youth and women, especially the poor, the disadvantaged, and those at the "geographical and existential margins". We carry out our mission at the service of the Church in collaboration with the educating community, other members of the Salesian family and all people of good will to bring about a just and humane society.

Vision Statement
We, the FMA of Sacred Heart province of Bangalore, envisage to be, Christ Centered communities, deeply rooted in faith and prayer, co-responsible for the common mission, net working with the local Church and other likeminded organizations; a community where every sister feels loved, accepted and appreciated, and manifests a deep sense of belonging and lives the charism of preventive love, enabling the young to become persons of communion, compassion, commitment and competence in the spirit of St. John Bosco and St. Maria Mazzarello.

General Objective Transformed by the experience of daily encounter with Jesus, we build communities of communion, compassion and commitment, to proclaim Christ joyfully like Mary Our Mother and accompany the young and the families in the Salesian style.

Mission and Gentes

Specific objectives Action Plans
Be committed to be Joyful proclaimers of Christ - Visiting minimum five families per month by every sister and maintain a record (Pastoral visit)

- Memorize a verse daily from the Scripture and share it with others

- Formation and animation of Missionary group among the Catholic students.

- Celebration of 140th year of first missionary expedition on 14th Nov.2017,

- Celebration of Sr. Teresa Balestra day-22nd November 2017.

- Celebration of Catechetical Day, Bible week and Mission Sunday

- Prayer for missionaries and missionary vocations on every Tuesday

- Regular Catechism / Moral Science / Day with God for the workers and house staff

- At the PCI level National Meeting of Mission ad Gentes at Nandigama –(November 17-19, 2017)

- Study :
- “Onwards in the course of the century” – Volume –II (Pg. 40 – 44).

- Church document –“Proclaim” and First Letter of St. Paul to Corinthians.
Be compassionate in accompanying the families - Formation and accompaniment of young couples

- Re-evangelize catholic families and strengthen the BCC units

- Spending time in preparing the people for the sacraments

- Conduct classes for the catholic families based on “Amoris Laetitia” –Chapter 7 and 8

- Give awareness to the catholic families on the apparition of Our Lady at Fatima.
