Orange Day Celebration: Anti-Human Trafficking Campaign

On 25 February 2014, the anniversary of the day when two eminent Salesian missionaries in China - Bishop Louis Versiglia and Fr.Callistus Caravario laid down their lives to protect the dignity of women, we celebrated the Orange Day to create awareness in our students about human trafficking especially of women and children.

Prior to that day, through video clips and lessons in Value education classes, the sisters, staff and students were given explanation about the significance of the celebration and the urgent need to 'UNITE' to ward off this social evil.

The students wore orange badges and ribbons and the staff orange sarees. At a signal from Sr. Lily Arangassery our dynamic Youth pastoral Coordinator, the students marched into the pavilion shouting anti - human trafficking slogans, stood in a large circle and formed the logo of the campaign. The animator Sr. Cecily Thomas gave a short explanation of the rationale of the campaign. The Principal Sr. Sophy Joseph administered the anti-human trafficking pledge. The students and staff took the pledge to respect always women and children and to stand for this cause.
